Getting a new puppy is one of the most exciting times, but you should make sure that you have all the kit ready and waiting for your little treasure to come home.
You should get your puppy microchipped as soon as possible at your local vet. It is a simple procedure lasting only a few minutes. The vet will place a microchip coded with an individual serial number in your puppy that can be looked up by an authorised user (for example a vet or dog warden) and notify you if they have found them.
Your new puppy needs to look smart! Match the collar to their personality. Although you won’t be able to take your puppy outside until they have had their shots you can start to get used to your puppy wearing a collar and lead in preparation for the big day. The Control Of Dogs Order 1992 advises that any dog in a public place must wear a collar with the name and address (including postcode) of the owner engraved onto it. We offer this service free on all Puppy Pack purchases or for a small extra fee on all our ID tags.
If you have a very small dog you might prefer to give them a harness which is better for those dogs with really small necks. You can find a wide range in our dog harnesses section.
Match the lead to the collar or select something else complimentary. Retractable or fixed? The choice is yours!
The new puppy will need somewhere warm and comfy to sleep.
Playtime is very important for a new puppy and we’ve got a great selection of toys to entertain them. You definitely need something to chew on as your little puppy loves chewing.
